Christmas Present Finish

Good Evening all

I thought I would just quickly show this off ...

I stitched this for my 'to-be' Son-In-Law for his Christmas present!  He loves it :-)

For 2 nights just after Christmas the kids were with their father so I had a great stitching session once I recovered from all the hard work of Christmas that is!!  I finished the Tatty Teddy kit my mum gave me and now I am stitching an All Our Yesterdays kit.  I will post photos in the morning.

I did try and stitch on my Fairy Grandmother but it was too dull and I struggled to see the holes in the fabric so I think she will be a summer project with good daylight!!  So I am going to go through my stash of smaller kits for now.

Have a great evening

Love me xxxx

My Santa Presents :-)

Laura, Ryan, Mark, Cara and Katie

The children are all made up with what Santa brought from them!  Cara delighted with her Doll House as she always saw this in Asda and would squeal whenever we went in there as she wanted to play with it.  It got so bad in the end we stopped taking her in there lol!!  She imagine her face when she opened the big parcel on Christmas Morning!!  She played with it all day and was the first thing she did this morning when she came down stairs :-)

Ryan did a list for Santa and he must have done a very good list with sensible things on because he got all he asked for :-) One happy chappy there!!

Conor wanted  lots of things but didn't really did know what lol!!  Santa did a good job with a mix of his favorite things.

Mark wanted Hot Wheels and Lego so Santa brought him a mix.

Katie wanted Hello Kitty stuff and that's what she go so she is now one great big Hello Kitty girl!!!

Cara got the Doll House and Peppa Pig stuffs

Laura and James both didn't know what they wanted at all so Santa was sensible and got them a few bits and pieces, books and DVD's and left them a packet of money each lol!!

I had no clue either so asked for a book and chocs ... I got loads .... Kindle Fire HD, book, DVD, perfume and loads of other goodies!!  I got spoiled with loads of surprises :-)

Enjoy the rest of Boxing Day.

Im off to get a bit of stitching done.  Kids away now until Friday so I am chilled out today.  Once the house was quiet it hit me how worn out I was so I just did nothing lol!!!  Two more full days ahead of me so I hope to get some progress on my WIP's

Bye for now

Love Heather

A catch up post ....

Hello All,

No stitching done this last week as I have been running here, there and everywhere!!

Then in any free time I have been studying and preparing my assignment for my Psychology Open University Course.  This assignment is due in any day now!! Better get my typing fingers on and get it finished off and sent.

I'm not sure if I have said but I have been voted onto the Parents Council at the little children's Primary school ... I am so excited!!  I am Vice Chairperson :-) The children brought a news letter home and there in type on the school letter was my name!!  That made me even more excited!

I went to a Parents morning at James' school and I am delighted to report that James is doing excellent in his first year of A-Levels.  In fact, and I have the bragging rights lol, James got 100% in his Maths exam!!!   I am just so proud of him.  James is also doing Computers as Physics which he is doing equally as well in both subjects!  His Physics A-Level wasn't taken up in his 'normal' secondary school so he has to travel to another secondary school in the area to do Physics.  So it was very strange going to another secondary school to meet other teachers.  He misses a big chunk of his computer classes which has been 'okayed' by his computer teacher and the teacher is delighted at the extra effort James is putting into the subject to keep up with all work.

On Tuesday evening the Primary School at the Christmas Concert for year 3-7 and it was just brilliant!  I was so proud once again that Mark, Conor and Ryan did brilliant!  Ryan was on stage playing his recorder and he did very well despite being super nervous beforehand.  I actually shed a few tears as well.

Over all I am so proud of my children over the last 6 months.  They have shown such courage and strength with the changes in the household since May but also the uncertainty of the previous months before brought. The children have come on leaps and bounds and have settled so much it is like having different children living with me.

I was soooo soooo proud to see them up on the stage singing and playing their little hearts out.  So I am one happy mummy right now!

Over this weekend I hope to get my assignment finished and the last of the presents sorted then I will be back in full stitching mode for the next few weeks. No school runs or running about to do.  Just shut the door and enjoy my children and sewing.  What more can I ask for.  One happy content woman right now, such a big change from 12 months ago .... such a nightmare and thank goodness it is never to be repeated!  Life is brilliant right now.

Well I had better get my 'homework' done or the kiddies will be grounding me and banning me from the computer lol

A girl cannot be banned from playing out over the holiday period now ha ha ho ho!!

Happy stitching, knitting, crocheting, Card making, Paper Crafting and everything else!!

Lots of love

Events of the week

Hello all!

How are you all doing?  All great I hope.

To start off, yesterday evening I discovered I had been awarded a blog award to I am over the moon :-)  This makes a great end to a great day ....

The yesterday Morning I helped out at the Year 1 & 2 Christmas play at the school ... well I dished out the mince pies but its a start and I loved doing it.

I also put myself forward for the parents Council a few weeks ago and I have been voted on as Vice Chairperson.  I cannot wait to get stuck in .... anyway back to the Christmas Play ...

My Katie is in Year 1 so she was in the play and she look adorable all dressed up.

What a cutie she is

Yesterday evening I collected James from school and he did nothing but talk away and it was fantastic.  We went and did the shopping and once home Laura, James and I started to put up the Christmas Decorations but I must say more giggling and joking went on than putting up decorations!!  We had some good fun!!

James

Our Tree

My Stitching has taken a back seat at the moment as there are lots of things going on with school and Christmas things but by the end of next week I hope to be back with my needle in hand with nothing but Christmas Dinner to plan .... Lets hope my plans go to plan but if they don't then nothing really drastic to fuss over :-)  All school commitments will be done by Tuesday evening so its just myself and Santa to sort out and I've nearly sorted Santa out so he knows what he is delivering here :-)

Ryan has challenged me to stitch ...

'Time To Stitch' from a recent Cross Stitch Magazine
I have made a small start but will dig into it and have a good stitching session next week on it and knock Ryans socks off with the progress I make!!

Well its bed time for me ...

'See' you all soon

What a week!

Hello!!

Well this week has seen myself and a few of the kiddies with heavy colds but also a few things to do.

The most exciting being taking Cara to Open Day at Nursery.  She enjoyed being there to begin with but soon got restless and wanted to go and find her siblings .... oooo so cute of her!  I was amazed because with Katie being in a full day at school now the other children get the bus so we don't do school runs to school and haven't since last June. I am very impressed that Cara actually remembered going to the school!  Way to go Cara, clever girlie for a grand old age of 2!

Here she is in the car waiting to go!!

Take me to Nursery Mummy!!

This weekend sees me getting stuck into an assignment for my Open University Course then doing a bit of stitching :-)

Happy 1st of December all :-)

Take care, lots of love me xxxxxx

Asking a favour ...

Hello all!

My 9 year old son Ryan has started his own blog Ryans Arty Blog

I would love it very much if you could take a look, comment and/or become a follower.

He is brilliant at art and craft and I am trying to encourage him to spend more time at it rather than wanting to play on the computer all the time!!

If you don't want too then that's fine.

Thank you so very much

Family, Lizzie*Kate new stash and ISHW update

Good Afternoon Bloggers

My family and I have had a fantastic time over the last 10 days that my parents were staying.

It was so lovely to have them here again and we hope to visit them early next year as my kiddies really want to go to their house ... I hope they leave it standing by the time we go home ha ha :-)

Laura and mum had a blast cooking away ... gorgeous meals and puddings and I think I need to go on a diet now as my clothes don't fit now lol!!!

My little ones really enjoyed pinching Grandad's computer and not letting him use it lol!!

Ryan took my dad out to do some bulb planting and they had great fun!!

Dad and Ryan planing bulbs
Ryan, Mark, Dad, Katie, Conor, Laura, Cara and James
When my dad is over it is tradition that he has his photo taken with Katie   This started when she first had her photo taken and then the next time dad was here Katie remembered so another photo was done so why break the habit of a 'life time' and not take one so ....

Dad and Katie
Brilliant photo!!

Katie just loved having rides home from the school bus stop each day ...

Grandad the 'Taxi Driver'

I treated myself to a little new stash ....

Just love Lizzie*Kate designs and I have stitched a few this year and I think there maybe more to be stitched next year too!!  Really am looking forward to having a wonderful stitching session and updating My Posh Thread list.

I enjoyed my little stitch along on the ISHW members.  Thank you so very much for your company :-)

I decided to stitch the Tatty Teddy kit my mum bought for me and brought it over with her when she visited last weekend :-)

Tatty Teddy kit from mum

Pleased with the good progress I made and I'm really pleased with my little self!!

I hope to get a little more done very soon but I plan to do a little Lizzie*Kate Christmas stitching and other Christmas Stitching over the weekend.  Planning to have lots to show you all come Monday!!

Just in case I get through all my stash I can always read one of my new books ....

Well I had better get up and get food organised for the hoards of children charging through my door in about an hour .... by hoards I mean my own children coming home from school lol!!

Happy stitching all
Take care

What a day!

Good evening bloggers

Oh today has been a busy crazy day!!  Katie didn't feel well so she was off school.

Ryan couldn't find his glasses when he got up this morning.  He puts them on his bedside table every night but during the night they grew legs and ran off!!  Ryan is as blind as a bat without his glasses so he was off school also.  We turned the house upside down looking for them but no joy at all so off to the optitians for a nw pair.  I thought maybe Ryan had hidden them to stay off school so I banned him from the computer and TV so he didnt strain his eyes but his glasses still didn't 'just tun up' so I guess they are really gone ... walked off in the night!!  How can a pair of specs just vanish?????

Whilst Ryan was off I took him for a hair cut lol I am just a kind mummy!!!  What a treat!!

Then once homework was done, eaten, kitchen cleared up it was not far off bedtime!!

Next week my parents are coming over and I cant wait.  The kids cant either.  We are going to have so much fun!!

No other news to report ... don't forget my giveaway ... comment and follow blog to be in with a chance of winning :-)

Weekend of stitching

Hello there!

What a lovely weekend of stitching I had.  I got the biscobud for a birthday present finished and lots done on my Fairy Grandmother by Lavender and Lace.  Delighted with myself.

Lovely red and green and metallic red hearts biscobud

Birthday Biscobud

I feel like I have made fantastic progress on Fairy Grandmother.  She looks yummy!  I have done quite a bit on her face but the stitches are teeny tiny and I can do about an hour at a time.  The detail is brilliant and i am glad I decided to stitch her face 1 over 1 on the 32 count rather than 2 over 2 with backstitch.  The time and eye strain will be well worth it lol :-)

Fairy Grandmother at the end of 22nd October

Now to stitch a biscornu that a friend has ask for .... Think I could make a business out of the ornies I make lol

Happy stitching and crafting all.

Giveaway for blogoversary coming ASAP :-)

Update + Giveaway + Hermit weekend

Hello readers

I have spent yesterday and this evening finishing the stitching and beading on a biscobud so this evening I could start putting it together.

I love the colours in this piece.  Most of the colour should have been Gold Metallic thread but I changed to green with read beads. There is also a lovely red tassel in the center of the beads on the larger square.

Really have enjoyed stitching this design

Before putting the biscobud together and tassel on

This weekend I am childless, well my 2 big adult children will be about but they are under strict instructions to look after themselves lol!  Me .... well I am having a weekend of stitching and nothing else!  Pizza will be ordered in and thats about the height of cooking for the weekend!!!

Over the next day or go I will be doing a giveaway on my blog.  The anniversary of my blog is here in a few days and it will 2 years of blogging and chatting so this is something worth shouting about (I hope!!).

As a thank you to all my readers I thought a giveaway would nice so please spread the word and watch over the next few days for the posting.

Well I am off to bed, early start in the morning then from 2pm I will be in my stitching corner and I shall not be moved until Sunday Evening .... ooooooo bliss!

Night all

Lots of love and hugs

I am really made up with my finish and I already have my stitching at the framers!!

Cannot wait to get her back from the framers and up on my wall.

When at the craft club on Friday a few people asked me to make them a biscornu so yes I now have a couple of them to stitch and make up.  Really delighted that people like them and will use them :-)

I also have a coupe of birthday presents to make up.  Busy Busy Busy which is what I like.

Hope everyone is well today and you all had a good weekend.

Weekend of stitching and reading :-)

Hello to you all

This weekend was an odd quiet weekend.  My children went to stay with their father from 2pm on Saturday.  So by he time I had collected James from his school camping trip and got myself settled back at home I stitched and read the weekend away :-)

Back Packer James
I have spent about a week on this so far with the majority of the stitching done during Craft Club.  We have moved our location of the Craft Club to a local Coffee Cafe/Bar/Nightclub venue.  Don't worry only coffee served at the time the craft Club is going on but I don't drink anyway so I'm fine with my caffeine fix lol!!  I did some over the weekend but I enjoyed relaxing and reading and chatting to Laura, James and friends :-)

Old Stitchers by Just A Moment
I think this will look like when Im finished lol
Now then .... my love for reading and my friends love for reading has inspired us to set up a Book Club.  It took a while to decide on the first book to read but finally the decision was made and we chose ....

Brilliant Read

I am half way through and I would recommend this book to everyone!!  Totally brilliant, witty and funny.

Well this morning I am going to get some pen-pal letters written as I haven't done any for a while.  So much going on here but now all is back to normal and lots of time for 'me' things :-)

Have a great day everyone
