Stitching, sewing, school and a crash!

Good Morning to you all!

The kiddies are all back to school.  Conor has started Secondary school with ease :D  He is really enjoying it! Which I am quite pleased about!!

Conor's First Day
2nd September 2016
Conor and Ryan
Mark, Katie and Cara are back to school too!!  Mark's last year at Primary School! So I feel like I have deja vu the past 3 years lol One boy after the other leaving Primary school!  At least I will have a rest for a few years before it is Katie's turn!!

Cara, Katie and Mark off to school on 1st September
During the summer I got little chance to do much but I did make a pencil case for Cara!
She is totally delighted with it :D

We had fun and Ice-cream in the park
24th August 2016

I finished my Joan Elliott SAL and had it framed!
(17th August 2016)

Now back onto Charlie Bear
(as at 20 August 2016)

I am trying to stitch a wee Egyptian hanger for Katie's teacher as their topic this month is all about Egypt but I can sit for very long and craft ... something that would normally take me a couple of days has taken about a 5 days!  A few stitches then I have to put it down and my shoulders, back and arms start to hurt :(

Why?

Well, on 1st September some woman, who was not looking where she was driving, drove straight into the back of me whilst I was waiting to turn right!  I had been there for about 30 seconds and she came flying down the road and smashed straight into the back of me!!  She was NOT looking at the road!! Wonder what she was looking at??  Laura and Abby were in the car too!  Everyone is battered and bruised.  Laura's arm is in a splint.  Lucky nothing is too seriously damaged, except the car has been written off!!  That woman came at us with some speed that's for sure!

So at the moment we are taking things easy!  Not quite the start to the new school year I had planned!!

So, with luck I hope to be back to my normal self soon!  I am sore from head to toe!!

Have fun and Keep Safe!!
Bye for now
Love me

Golly Gosh!

Hello there bloggers!

Wow it has been a month since my last posting ... naughty me!  Well in my defence (lol) my computer gave up on me so I had to wait til I could get another one!  So ... here I am ... back again to torment and annoy lol

James is now home from Uni for the summer holidays!  The gang is back together again! :D

Yesterday was Cara's 6th Birthday :D She had a brilliant day!  Tomorrow we will have a party in a Kiddies adventure soft ball playground!  That will be fun :D

I haven't done much cross stitch or sewing other than gifts or things the kiddies have asked for!!  I am in the process of finishing off teacher gifts and I did a few cushions as a birthday present!  I am going to use the covers I did as a practise for my own sofa!  They don't look too bad lol

Practice Cushion
Penguin Cushion for Conor
Apple Cushion
The children also decided they wanted to learn to play Tennis!

So off we went to the Omagh Lawn Tennis Club!

James booked a court for us for an hour on Friday and we had such great fun!!

Katie, Cara and Mark

Well, I must get back to making the teachers end of school year gifts!  The school Summer Holidays start on 30th June!!  Eeeek not much time left lol

Have fun and see you all soon!

Time flies ...

Hello All,

Wow I can't believe it has been over a week since my last posting in the A-Z Challenge!

I have been crafting and making 'behind the scenes' haha!!  Plus my mum came to visit for 5 days, which was totally fantastic :D

I got really fed up hunting for stuff that I needed when sewing/making so I went out and bought a few storage boxes, pinched a shelf unit from my bedroom and I now have mine and kiddies sewing stuffs all organised :D

All in the one place!!
Boxes with our pen-pal letters in
Boxes of fabric and wool
Accessories in boxes in between!!

Fab fab fab!!  I just love this layout!

Miss Katie photo-bombed me lol
Cheeky Monkey!
I have started a cushion for Conor but I haven't  got too far though!!  Here is his penguin which will be sewn on ASAP

Made from felt and hand sewn together
He does need some eyes I think :D

Cara did have a plastic type bag that the school give the children at the start of a new school year, to put their homework in.  Well Cara's got a hole in the bottom!!  So after a few carrier bags that ended up with holes in the bottom I decided to make her a bag.  I think the problem was she kept dragging the bags on the floor, as they where nearly bigger than her, which was why she ended up with holes in the bottom!!

Pleased with her bag :D

one side

other side
I use two different designs of fabric, which was sent to the girls, by Jean.  I have lined the bag on the inside with iron-on interfacing!!  Lets hope that is strong enough to last until the end of June!!

Last but not least ... my mum as taught me to knit!!  :D

Me ... Knitting!
Wow weeee ... I never thought I would ever enjoy knitting but I certainly did :D

I had better go and get myself sorted for school run!!

Bye for now,

Love and hugs

Crafting and goodies ... plus Gifted Gorgeousness 2016

Hello there!

I hope you are all enjoying my posts for the A-Z challenge! I am enjoying writing them!

The last few days I have been a busy bee on the sewing machine and cross stitching!

I have finished Cara's cushion ...

Cushion
She had her name written on paper and I managed to trace it onto the fabric then stitch over the top of the pencil markings!!  So, her very own personalised cushion!

Conor has now asked for a penguin cushion!!  Is there no end to the list??  NO! haha I really do not mind either :D

I made two 'Floppy Pots'  today!  That was a learning curve haha!!  I totally enjoyed every minute of it :D

2 'Floppy Pots'

Filled with yummy stuffs!

The girls got a lovely surprise when that came home from school yesterday, a lovely 'old' friend had sent them a lovely parcel of fabric, a stitched personalised notebook for me and a lovely example of quilting :D  We are totally delighted for the lovely goodies and I am totally over the moon to have an old friend make contact :D

She had been reading my blog and e-mailed me!  A wonderful blast from the past ...

Many many MANY thanks Jean xoxoxo

My girls are plotting and planning what to make!
the poor sewing machine will be tired once they
have finished!!

Beautiful ... Just Beautiful :D

Oh my!!  Fantastic :D
I am putting this as a decoration cloth in my room
Too good to be folded away!
Gorgeous :D

That's just a quick update from here!!  I missed my Gifted Gorgeousness post for April, but to be honest I haven't made any gifts ... Well the cushions may count!!  I haven't stitched anything though!! I must get some stitching done for my May posting :D  I really do need to get a move on with teacher gifts as the time is getting closer and closer (Last weekday in JUNE my children finish for the summer!!)  Not far off!!

Well I had better start getting the kiddies sorted for bed!  The days are just whizzing by these days!

Bye for now ... see you for the next letter tomorrow :D

Happy Mother's Day to all you yummy mummys

Have a Great Day
The past week or so I have been organising and stitching for school!!  I am on Parent's Council at Conor, Mark, Katie and Cara's school and we had organised a Fitness for Fun Fundraiser.  One of the other parents is mad about Zumba dancing so we had her in to do Zumba with the kiddies and it was fantastic!  400 odd kids coming into the school hall over two mornings to do Zumba was amazing!  I have never seen so many happy kiddies in one place at the same time!

Then on Thursday we did Cupcake decorating!  Between 9am and 12 noon we had 400 odd kiddies come into the hall, get a plain cupcake then decorate it! We had a blast!! Great fun! Here are Mark, Katie and Cara with their buns! I have a photo of Conor somewhere on my camera or the Headmasters camera!!  I may have to go bug him for photos!

Then on Friday it was Mad Hair Day and own clothes day!  I love non-uniform days on a Friday because I can get the uniform washed and dried early lol

It was Integration week and I stitched this hanger for the school as a surprise!  The Headmaster loves it :D

They had pink, green and blue in their hair topped with glitter hairspray lol  They looked a treat!! Shame it does not really show up on the photos! When I sprayed the glitter on I made them stand outside lol We must of looked a little silly if the neighbours saw us haha  Oh well, never mind!

Have a great day everyone.  I am off to do a bit of letter writing and stitching :D

Gifted Gorgeousness, A Finish (yay!!) and lots of post

Hello there everyone,

Well, this week I worked away on Cara's Mermaid, designed by Joan Elliott!  She is such a slave driver lol

After deciding she wanted beads and sparkle (just like mummy's Summer Fairy) I managed to complete her Mermaid for her!  I felt so bad that she has had to wait so long for it!  However she was totally delighted with the results :D

Cara's Mermaid
Finished 15 February 2016

Mermaid with beads and sparkle!
For this months Gifted Gorgeousness (sorry the posting is a little late!), hosted by Serendipitous Stitching, along with the Mermaid stitching for Cara ... I'm sure this will count as a gift :D ... I started a chart that I bought with a gift voucher, for Sew and So, which James and the kiddies gave me for Christmas.  I bought :-

My goodies I bought with my voucher

The start of my gifted chart

I cannot wait to get a bit more done on this chart as I love cross stitching and I am just getting started on my sewing machine, so its 2 crafts all rolled into one ... perfect!!

Here is a clear photo of the stitched gift I did for one of Katie's penpals ... I did the stitching in January during DUCJFC2016, then stitched it onto fabric using my sewing machine :D  Great fun!!

Gifted flower hanger
Plus handmade pom-poms for Katie and Cara's hair :D

I have also started a birthday gift for a pen-pal but I will not show it off until March!  Just in case she sees it on her first!!

Last but not least, Katie and I spent all day yesterday writing letters to our penpals and we produced this pile of mail, which I will go and post off shortly :D

Huge pile of letters!

That's it really, we have had a few lovely days off school due to mid-term break.  So we chilled out and relaxed and didn't really do much at all!  everyone did what they pretty much wanted which was excellent!  Also meant I could get Car's mermaid finished!!  No doubt there will be more requests coming my way soon lol

Have a great day all, and keep safe out there!

With love and hugs

And they're off ...

Hello everyone!

Well, back to school for the kiddies, back to routine and homework !!!

Ryan started High School yesterday and he was a bag of nerves going in but he came out with a big smile on his face so that's a great sign!!

First day nerves for my big man!!

It was so strange walking just Conor, Mark, Katie and Cara up for the bus!!  I kept looking behind myself to see if Ryan was behind me lol  He was at home waiting for me to get back for a lift!! James checked him over to make sure he had his tie on right and shirt buttoned up haha  I think he is more of the mother hen!!  The next big milestone in our family is James off to Uni on 19th Septemebr!!

Getting on the bus!!

One problem the kiddies always have is finding their PE kit bags when everyone's look the same so I hunted down bags that would be easily spotted by them and I ordered these from eBay ... I am totally delighted!!

Kiddies PE kit bags

I think it is time now to get some stitching done :D  I am currently stitching Cara's mermaid and I Hope to be able to get it finished for her soon!

Have a great day!
