Crafting and goodies ... plus Gifted Gorgeousness 2016

Hello there!

I hope you are all enjoying my posts for the A-Z challenge! I am enjoying writing them!

The last few days I have been a busy bee on the sewing machine and cross stitching!

I have finished Cara's cushion ...

Cushion
She had her name written on paper and I managed to trace it onto the fabric then stitch over the top of the pencil markings!!  So, her very own personalised cushion!

Conor has now asked for a penguin cushion!!  Is there no end to the list??  NO! haha I really do not mind either :D

I made two 'Floppy Pots'  today!  That was a learning curve haha!!  I totally enjoyed every minute of it :D

2 'Floppy Pots'

Filled with yummy stuffs!

The girls got a lovely surprise when that came home from school yesterday, a lovely 'old' friend had sent them a lovely parcel of fabric, a stitched personalised notebook for me and a lovely example of quilting :D  We are totally delighted for the lovely goodies and I am totally over the moon to have an old friend make contact :D

She had been reading my blog and e-mailed me!  A wonderful blast from the past ...

Many many MANY thanks Jean xoxoxo

My girls are plotting and planning what to make!
the poor sewing machine will be tired once they
have finished!!

Beautiful ... Just Beautiful :D

Oh my!!  Fantastic :D
I am putting this as a decoration cloth in my room
Too good to be folded away!
Gorgeous :D

That's just a quick update from here!!  I missed my Gifted Gorgeousness post for April, but to be honest I haven't made any gifts ... Well the cushions may count!!  I haven't stitched anything though!! I must get some stitching done for my May posting :D  I really do need to get a move on with teacher gifts as the time is getting closer and closer (Last weekday in JUNE my children finish for the summer!!)  Not far off!!

Well I had better start getting the kiddies sorted for bed!  The days are just whizzing by these days!

Bye for now ... see you for the next letter tomorrow :D

Hugs

Knitting Katie, WIP day and Gifted Gorgeousness (a little late!)

Good Morning!

Well the sun seems to have his hat on and spring seems to be springing!!  All great stuff!!

I was going though my photos for my gifted Gorgeousness photos and i came across this photo taken the other week, of Katie, at the school knitting club :D  She certainly is very 'crafty'!!  :D

Katie at Knitting Club at school
this was taken on mad hair day which
is why her hair is a 'funny' colour!!
After a good few days of a serious spring clean ... honestly where does all the 'junk' come from as we have only been here since October?!!  lol ... I forgot to post my Gifted Gorgeousness post so here is a photo of a few gifts that went to mine and Katie's pen pals!

A few gifts for our Pen-pals
After all my heard work of a total de-clutter and clean up (along with tons of washing and drying as I stripped down all the beds ... I never though of the washing and drying at the time lol) I am now going to have a lazy day on my bottom and stitch on this Joan Elliott SAL which Joan Elliott herself organised, designed and re-charted the charts to fit the boxes :D

I hope you all have a great day!

Bye for now

Gifted Gorgeousness, A Finish (yay!!) and lots of post

Hello there everyone,

Well, this week I worked away on Cara's Mermaid, designed by Joan Elliott!  She is such a slave driver lol

After deciding she wanted beads and sparkle (just like mummy's Summer Fairy) I managed to complete her Mermaid for her!  I felt so bad that she has had to wait so long for it!  However she was totally delighted with the results :D

Cara's Mermaid
Finished 15 February 2016

Mermaid with beads and sparkle!
For this months Gifted Gorgeousness (sorry the posting is a little late!), hosted by Serendipitous Stitching, along with the Mermaid stitching for Cara ... I'm sure this will count as a gift :D ... I started a chart that I bought with a gift voucher, for Sew and So, which James and the kiddies gave me for Christmas.  I bought :-

My goodies I bought with my voucher

The start of my gifted chart

I cannot wait to get a bit more done on this chart as I love cross stitching and I am just getting started on my sewing machine, so its 2 crafts all rolled into one ... perfect!!

Here is a clear photo of the stitched gift I did for one of Katie's penpals ... I did the stitching in January during DUCJFC2016, then stitched it onto fabric using my sewing machine :D  Great fun!!

Gifted flower hanger
Plus handmade pom-poms for Katie and Cara's hair :D

I have also started a birthday gift for a pen-pal but I will not show it off until March!  Just in case she sees it on her first!!

Last but not least, Katie and I spent all day yesterday writing letters to our penpals and we produced this pile of mail, which I will go and post off shortly :D

Huge pile of letters!

That's it really, we have had a few lovely days off school due to mid-term break.  So we chilled out and relaxed and didn't really do much at all!  everyone did what they pretty much wanted which was excellent!  Also meant I could get Car's mermaid finished!!  No doubt there will be more requests coming my way soon lol

Have a great day all, and keep safe out there!

With love and hugs
Heather

Gifted Gorgeousness January Update

SAL

Hello to all you Gorgeousness people!

Gifted Gorgeousness is hosted by Jo from Serendipitous Stitching

First of all I am so sorry my first post is late!!  Ekkkk ... I forgot posting as I have had an upside down weekend!  I just do not know where the days are going!

I am also participating in Debbie's Crazy January/February challenge hosted by Linda and within this challenge I started some kits that i was given as gifts.  I am also stitching/making gifts for my children's teachers as their end of year gifts!  Ok, I am starting early by I have 4 children of Primary school age so that's 4 teachers and then each classroom has a few teaching assistants .... so now you can see why I have started early lol

So far I have started ...

A Baby sampler

A very small start

This is a baby sampler that I was given by a very dearly departed friend ... Its about time I made a start but as the year goes on I will get more (ALL!!) of it done :D

This was a birthday chart given to me last
year by another wonderful friend.
Just a small start again ...
but its a start!!

My next posting will be ON TIME and more interesting lol!!  I hope to machine sew a few gifts too using a few motifs I have stitched.  All being well they will sew up great and make lovely gifts :D ... I will keep you posted!!

Bye for now, keep safe and well,
Hugs
Heather
