Cross Stitching, Pottery and Coffee

Hello all! 😊

This evening was the 2nd Pottery class for my kiddies. Again, they really enjoyed themselves.

Conor & Marks
Creations

Cara all pleased
With herself!

Katie & Conor

Funny face Katie
And her pot

Whilst they have 2 hours of messy fun, I indulged in a Chocolate Muffin, super large coffee and some more cross stitching. I am really loving Ladybird Fairy by Joan Elliott 😀

Yummy in every way

Once again the weekend is here ... It is nearly half term. A month and half of 2018 gone already! I really do not know where the days are going. Im still all out of sorts from Christmas!!

The kiddies & I did alot of cleaning and sorting this evening so lets hope we can have a lazy weekend! Cara is intending on staying in her PJ's all weekend 😂 Thats my girl!!

No matter what you do, have a good one and stay safe xxx

Back to my cross stitching!!

Hello!!

Its a cold, rainy & snowy day here ... Cara is off school sick AGAIN! SOOOOO .... I decided to snuggle up on the sofa with Cara whilst she watched the Christmas cartoons. Me being me cannot sit still so I pulled out 'The Little Stitching Fairy' by Joan Elliott.

Here she is so far ... yes a long way to go hehehe

Feels quite nice to be cross stitching again (Whilst planning my next sewing project in my head!!) 😍😛

Have a great day

Stitching, sewing, school and a crash!

Good Morning to you all!

The kiddies are all back to school.  Conor has started Secondary school with ease :D  He is really enjoying it! Which I am quite pleased about!!

Conor's First Day
2nd September 2016
Conor and Ryan
Mark, Katie and Cara are back to school too!!  Mark's last year at Primary School! So I feel like I have deja vu the past 3 years lol One boy after the other leaving Primary school!  At least I will have a rest for a few years before it is Katie's turn!!

Cara, Katie and Mark off to school on 1st September
During the summer I got little chance to do much but I did make a pencil case for Cara!
She is totally delighted with it :D

Caras pencil case

We had fun and Ice-cream in the park
24th August 2016

I finished my Joan Elliott SAL and had it framed!
(17th August 2016)

Now back onto Charlie Bear
(as at 20 August 2016)

I am trying to stitch a wee Egyptian hanger for Katie's teacher as their topic this month is all about Egypt but I can sit for very long and craft ... something that would normally take me a couple of days has taken about a 5 days!  A few stitches then I have to put it down and my shoulders, back and arms start to hurt :(

Why?

Well, on 1st September some woman, who was not looking where she was driving, drove straight into the back of me whilst I was waiting to turn right!  I had been there for about 30 seconds and she came flying down the road and smashed straight into the back of me!!  She was NOT looking at the road!! Wonder what she was looking at??  Laura and Abby were in the car too!  Everyone is battered and bruised.  Laura's arm is in a splint.  Lucky nothing is too seriously damaged, except the car has been written off!!  That woman came at us with some speed that's for sure!

So at the moment we are taking things easy!  Not quite the start to the new school year I had planned!!

So, with luck I hope to be back to my normal self soon!  I am sore from head to toe!!

Have fun and Keep Safe!!
Bye for now
Love me

Knitting Katie, WIP day and Gifted Gorgeousness (a little late!)

Good Morning!

Well the sun seems to have his hat on and spring seems to be springing!!  All great stuff!!

I was going though my photos for my gifted Gorgeousness photos and i came across this photo taken the other week, of Katie, at the school knitting club :D  She certainly is very 'crafty'!!  :D

Katie at Knitting Club at school
this was taken on mad hair day which
is why her hair is a 'funny' colour!!
After a good few days of a serious spring clean ... honestly where does all the 'junk' come from as we have only been here since October?!!  lol ... I forgot to post my Gifted Gorgeousness post so here is a photo of a few gifts that went to mine and Katie's pen pals!

A few gifts for our Pen-pals
After all my heard work of a total de-clutter and clean up (along with tons of washing and drying as I stripped down all the beds ... I never though of the washing and drying at the time lol) I am now going to have a lazy day on my bottom and stitch on this Joan Elliott SAL which Joan Elliott herself organised, designed and re-charted the charts to fit the boxes :D

I hope you all have a great day!

Bye for now

Gifted Gorgeousness, A Finish (yay!!) and lots of post

Hello there everyone,

Well, this week I worked away on Cara's Mermaid, designed by Joan Elliott!  She is such a slave driver lol

After deciding she wanted beads and sparkle (just like mummy's Summer Fairy) I managed to complete her Mermaid for her!  I felt so bad that she has had to wait so long for it!  However she was totally delighted with the results :D

Cara's Mermaid
Finished 15 February 2016

Mermaid with beads and sparkle!
For this months Gifted Gorgeousness (sorry the posting is a little late!), hosted by Serendipitous Stitching, along with the Mermaid stitching for Cara ... I'm sure this will count as a gift :D ... I started a chart that I bought with a gift voucher, for Sew and So, which James and the kiddies gave me for Christmas.  I bought :-

My goodies I bought with my voucher

The start of my gifted chart

I cannot wait to get a bit more done on this chart as I love cross stitching and I am just getting started on my sewing machine, so its 2 crafts all rolled into one ... perfect!!

Here is a clear photo of the stitched gift I did for one of Katie's penpals ... I did the stitching in January during DUCJFC2016, then stitched it onto fabric using my sewing machine :D  Great fun!!

Gifted flower hanger
Plus handmade pom-poms for Katie and Cara's hair :D

I have also started a birthday gift for a pen-pal but I will not show it off until March!  Just in case she sees it on her first!!

Last but not least, Katie and I spent all day yesterday writing letters to our penpals and we produced this pile of mail, which I will go and post off shortly :D

Huge pile of letters!

That's it really, we have had a few lovely days off school due to mid-term break.  So we chilled out and relaxed and didn't really do much at all!  everyone did what they pretty much wanted which was excellent!  Also meant I could get Car's mermaid finished!!  No doubt there will be more requests coming my way soon lol

Have a great day all, and keep safe out there!

With love and hugs

Long time since I last posted ...

Hello to you all!

It has been a super long time since I was here!  I have had a ton of Uni stuff to do and since I am now the PR (Public Relations) person for the Parent Council at my kiddie's school I decided to do a PR online course :) So there is no excuse for me not to know what I am doing in the world of PR now lol

Once again Katie and Cara are not well ... Looks like tomorrow is another day off school for both of them!  They haven't been in for a few days!

Not much stitching done for me as I have been filling my brain with educational stuff instead of the glorious stitching stuff!!  My poor head lol

I have managed to catch up with a Joan Elliott SAL I am in.  I will put the beads and metallic thread on at the end!  My phone camera has not taken a very good photo!!

Just 2 more squares to go :)

I have also started a mermaid for Cara!!

This is a mermaid ... honest!!

I have also been letter writing and Postcrossing!  I've been busy doing lots but not getting much done lol!!  I just do not know where the days are going too at all!!

I have finally caught up with my organising my Birthday thread group ... Lucky really as the first birthday in the group isn't until April!!  I am just so slow and behind with things ... fingers crossed I have caught up and will stay that way!!  I am normally a very organised person :)

Until next time ... happy crafting and blogging!!

Love and hugs

DUCJC update and Joan Elliott SAL ... plus a funny slip up lol

Good Evening bloggers,

I hope you are all well and for those of you with the snow falling I hope you are not snowed in like we are!!  We have had a fun week with the snow and the school has even been closed on one occasion.

On Friday there was that much snow at school bus run time that we decided going out at a silly time in the morning in a fresh heavy snow fall was a little silly, if not dangerous!!  So a few hours later after a few cars had been up and down our road James and I decided to venture down to the shop as wee needed milk (and maybe some chocolate lol) Well we got to the shop and half way up our road home the car got stuck!!  James being the practical and forward thinking person he is had actually brought a spade lol  So dig dig dig to get the car unstuck ... but the car still wouldn't budge on the slippy road!  Needless to say I went head over heals on the slippy road lol James just laughed and laughed then took photos!!  Thanks James hahaha!! we left the car, walked home and then came back a few hours later once the snow started to melt.  Thankfully we got the car home in time because then it started snowing heavier ... now we are under about 8 inches of snow!!  School on Monday is looking like another no-go!!

Ooops!!
I just could not get up for laughing!!

My participation in Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015 (DUCJC) is going good!!

I have spent a few days stitching on Round Robins and SAL's so there are not too may photos to show!  Plus I cannot show the RR's just yet :)  Need to keep them as a surprise for the recipients :)

Grab bags from Polstitches

All together!!

3 pieces I won from eBay for £2 each!!!
I couldn't believe my luck!!!

Once I have my last part of the Open University course I am doing finished off I am going to spend my time finishing off Summer Fairy and maybe, just maybe get started on my Christmas Chart that Santa brought to me, Little Stitching fairy by Joan Elliott.  I have bought the threads needed and the package looks lovely and inviting!!

Threads and beads

Back of the packet ...
Just look at all them wonderful colours!!

The threads are for this chart
I cant wait to get started!!

The children are away this weekend so I AM and I WILL get my Grandchilds Baby Sampler finished!  I have 3/4 of it completed already, including the backstitch, so there really isn't much left at all!!  .... I just need a good kick up the backside to get this one finished!!  I've got between 6 to 8 weeks max before baby will be here but I would like the sampler ready to put the childs name etc on as soon as I know she has been born .... So, my stitching buddies ... please give me a kick up the backside lol

Well, I had better get myself ready to do school runs!  I'll post a photo of my progress on Baby Sampler tomorrow :)

SAL - Air Goddess Progress

Good Afternoon friends :-)

I hope you all are having a good weekend.  I have a few hours before the kiddies are home so I thought I would update my blog with my Saturday Stitching on Air Goddess by Joan Elliott.

I have started in the middle of the chart (as suggested for most Cross Stitched charts) but I hate working up the fabric so I will slowly work my way up to the top of the design then work my way down.

I don't know about you but for me I find my stitching just goes all lumpy bumpy working my way up the design lol!!  I normally work out how far up from the middle the top is and start there but I didn't want to make a mess on this lovely piece so I did it 'right' for a change lol :-)

Air Goddess By Joan Elliott
Progress after one evening of stitching

How much stitching did you get done this weekend?  Loads and loads I hope xxx

I got a little done, not as much I had hoped, but I am delighted just the same.  Tried to stitch on her this morning but the daylight is rubbish as its so dark outside and its pouring with rain.

So I have put her away and will crack on with my Winter Exchange for Stitched With Love Exchange Blog .... oh I've just spotted a Spring Exchange on there!!!!

Have a wonderful day all

Photo Finish ...Hermitting and Joan Elliott

Good Evening my friends!

Yay I finally got to my computer lol

This is what I spent my hermit weekend stitching :-)

Here are my lovely cutie Hedgehogs :-)

Crossword Hedgehogs
Finished 19 January 2013

Designed by Margaret Sherry
Stitched on 14 count Aida with DMC threads

I spent ages sorting my boxes of threads out as I could not find threads I wanted and snowed under in threads I've not used much lol!!

I cant find a few colours I need for Air Goddess and other bobbins have little thread left on them so Im just going to be very naughty and buy what I need and keep them separate from the rest!!

So, whilst I what for the threads to be delivered I will start on my Easter Exchange for the Margaret Sherry Lovers Blog.

This is the Joan Elliot Design I am doing next.  When I get what I need for Summer Fairy for Cara I will make that my main stitching piece for a while, but until then my stitching time will mainly be for me!!!

All for me when its done!!
Have a great evening .... well whats left of it for me anyway lol

For My Darling

Little Cara ....

I have stitched an everlasting piece for Ryan, Conor, Mark and Katie but yet to stitch for Cara.
(Laura and James can both stitch so they can do their own ha ha ha he he lol Meanie mummy!!!)

There were 2 different charts that I thought she would like but I wanted Cara to choose.  Yes she is only 2 years old but believe me this chick knows her own mind and what she wants!!!

I was talking to Steph and she threw in a 3rd chart to the mix (Thanks Steph!! lol)

So I printed of a good size picture of each one and gave them to Cara. She looked at them and carried the pictures around for an hour or so but kept stopping to 'study' them ...

1) Air Goddess
2) Daffodil Fairy
3) Summer Fairy

All Joan Elliot designs ... it was Summer Fairy Steph threw into the mix ...

I love Air Goddess, Steph preferred Daffodil Fairy before she suggested Summer Fairy because Cara is a Summer baby!!  Plus Steph has already stitched Summer Fairy and we both know its gorgeous!!  When I was printing the pictures James said Summer Fairy is more Cara!!  That boy knows his little sister very well indeed!

Anyway Cara chose ....

Summer Fairy

Well Cara, My lovely little girlie, Mummy has ordered 'the stuff' and I will start ASAP!!

P.S  Can I do Air Goddess for me because I think she is Cool!!!
