Teacher Gift Stitching

Hello all,

I hope everyone is well.  I can't believe it has been over a week since I have been on my blog but I have a very good excuse ... I have been busy stitching teacher gifts :-)

I had the pieces stitched up but just needed to put them together which I spent most of last week doing.  I did have a little 'accident' ... well it wasn't my fault ... I blame Cara lol!!  we were messing about and being totally silly when she went to throw herself at some force onto the floor.  Anyone's natural reaction would be to catch the little imp before she smashed onto the floor!!!  Well I did and hurt my wrist.  I have never had a bruise so big and black before lol!!

So, stitching was painful and slow but me being as stubborn as I am I had to get the gifts done!  I couldn't let the children down because they had chosen what they wanted me to stitch.

Here are the results of some wonderful choices by the children!  Each child chose something their teachers like which I thought was lovely and showed that they did pay attention in class lol

Teacher Gifts
Ryan's Teachers Gift
Conor's Teacher Gift
Mark's Teacher Gift

Katie's Teacher Gift

Katie's Class Room Assistants Gift

I am totally delighted with how the gifts turned out :-)

I'm a little behind with other stitching but I am sure I will soon catch up as the children are of school from tomorrow for the school summer hoildays plus they are away this weekend.  James also goes to Spain on Sunday so there is no time scale and rushing about for the next 2 months :-)  Bliss!!!

Have a great day and weekend all

Conor and Karate

Good Evening bloggers!

I hope everyone is well.  All is good here ... well I'll pretend I said that lol! It was a bit touch and go with sickness on Sunday evening/Monday daytime as the kiddies returned from their fathers and  reported that their father had been sick all weekend!!   Ryan had a temperature of 101F so he was off school on Monday and today.  Mark looked ill last night but after a good sleep he was fine ... so all in all a lucky escape for the kiddies!!  It must be all the good food and vitamins I have been giving them :-)

Last Saturday Conor entered his grading for his orange Belt and he passed :-) One happy little Conor!!! He is really delighted with himself and he cant wait for his next grading haha!!

The Karate Kid

Orange Karate Dog

The children have the rest of this week and next week in school and then 9 weeks summer holidays for us to have fun fun FUN!!  But before the fun can start with the kiddies over the holidays I have to have fun fun FUN putting the teacher gifts together :-)

I spent a few hours over the weekend finishing off my pen-pal letters!!

I just love sending and receiving letters.  So much better than getting bills and junk mail I think!

My RR has also been posted to Cucki.  I am so looking forward to getting RR's I the post again.

Nothing else to report

Have fun and be good!!

Love and hugs

Another one bites the dust :-)

Hello all!!

How is everyone doing today?  Today it is pouring with rain but yesterday it was lovely and sunny ... so sunny in fact that Laura got most of the grass cut.  Well it seems that we have had our summer, one day better than none I suppose lol!!

I got another teacher gift finished on Monday!  5 down ... one to go!!  That's providing some of the kiddies don't decide they want some done for the teaching assistants!

Musical Mouse
designed by Margaret Sherry

I am making good progress with the Travelling pattern and hope to be ready to post off the end of next week.  I have an Open University Essay to have sent off by Tuesday so once that's done I will have many months free for stitching as that essay is the last in the course and no more until October :-)

Tomorrow all of us are going to have a group family photo taken professionally.  I cant wait!  I got the kids some lovely clothes.  Katie and Cara have got a new dress each :-) Oh they will love me forever lol!!

Have a great day :-)

Another Finish, A new start and a Travelling pattern (phew long title!!)

Hello there

Hope you are all having a good weekend.  My kiddies are with their father, who thought it was OK to turn up late!!  Yes 10 minutes is a long time for 5 kiddies who think because it's gone 2pm Daddy isn't coming :-(

They started complaining, that 10 minutes turns into tears and tantrums that could have been avoided by being on time!!!  Stress for no reason is not good or fair!  Rant over lol !!

Well Margaret Sherry Culinary Cat is finished yay yay yay!!!

Isn't he cute

I started the next teacher stitch last night and I got it nearly half finished.  It is Musical Mouse designed by Margaret Sherry :-)

Musical Mouse

I also received the fabric from Polstitchers for Ryan's Dragon.  Its totally gorgeous :-)

Travelling pattern

I will get stitching and then yel when i'm ready to pass on!

Anyone know of Travelling patterns up for grabs?  You wouldn't think I had a Uni essay to do for 10 days time lol!!  Oh well .... S T I T CH I N G   T I M E :-)

Margaret Sherry Cat

Good afternoon all,

Wow we have had a busy week and not much stitching time for me but I don't mind :-)

Last Sunday I helped out at the school with Holy Communion.  It was crazy busy but great fun.  I am glad I joined the parents Council at the school.

I have worked on one of the stitched presents for a teacher at the Primary school.  It is one of the Culinary Cats designed by Margaret Sherry :-)

I have also organised a little exchange between a few 'Old Stitching Friends' so I must get my piece done over the next week.  I love exchanges :-)

I use to do a lot of Round Robins too and they were great!

I receive Ryan Dragon kit and I ordered posh fabric from Polstitchers for it to be stitched on.  it took me an hour to choose what fabric and in the end I ordered a fabric called 'Fields of Green'.  Cannot wait to make a start on that.

Have a great day all and with luck I shall have another finish to show off very soon!

Take care

A Weekend Finish

Good Monday Morning bloggers

I hope you all had a great weekend.  My 5 younger kiddies were with their father so I promised Conor I would stitch his Karate Dog or his Yellow belt which he gain last September !

Wow I didn't realise it was months ago that he gained his yellow grading .... where have the months gone!  As the saying goes 'Time flies when your having fun' lol

So here is the fruits of my weekend ....

Karate Dog

Stitched by me
For Conor's yellow belt grading
in Karate

I am delighted with myself that I managed to get this piece done over the weekend.  I am thinking of getting it framed with his certificate :-)  I think that will look really good so I will get his red karate Dog framed the same way too.  It will soon be time or his Orange grading so I think I will make a start on that Karate dog sooner rather than later!!

Next 'job' is to get another teacher stitching done this week.

On Saturday the 5 little kiddies are with their father again until Wednesday evening so I plan to get as much done on Cara's Summer Fairy as I can whilst I'll have nearly 5 days to get stitching done.  Then they hare home Wednesday evening, Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning then back with their father on the Saturday afternoon until Sunday Evening ... Whilst the kiddies are away mummy shall play lol!!

I just hope they don't come home as hungry as they did yesterday .... they raided my cupboards and fridge within minutes of being home lol!  They were like little whirl-winds coming through the door!!

Have a great day all

Bye for now

Love me

Photo Finish ...Hermitting and Joan Elliott

Good Evening my friends!

Yay I finally got to my computer lol

This is what I spent my hermit weekend stitching :-)

Here are my lovely cutie Hedgehogs :-)

Crossword Hedgehogs
Finished 19 January 2013

Designed by Margaret Sherry
Stitched on 14 count Aida with DMC threads

I spent ages sorting my boxes of threads out as I could not find threads I wanted and snowed under in threads I've not used much lol!!

I cant find a few colours I need for Air Goddess and other bobbins have little thread left on them so Im just going to be very naughty and buy what I need and keep them separate from the rest!!

So, whilst I what for the threads to be delivered I will start on my Easter Exchange for the Margaret Sherry Lovers Blog.

This is the Joan Elliot Design I am doing next.  When I get what I need for Summer Fairy for Cara I will make that my main stitching piece for a while, but until then my stitching time will mainly be for me!!!

Hedgehogs

Hello all!

I hope you are all having a good evening and for those of you with snow I hope you are not having too much disruption to your normal routine.  It has been snowing here for most of the day but it is only just starting to stick on the roads and pavements.

I just hope I can get Conor to Karate in the morning as he is meant to be doing his next grading within the next few lessons so I really don't want him missing any due to the weather.  Which reminds me I still have to stitch a Karate Dog with a Yellow belt before he needs 2 Karate Dogs doing :-O

Laura and James have gone off to youth club to be leaders, which they do voluntary, and have taken Conor and Ryan with them so I'm sitting on my own whilst he other 3 kiddies are sleeping so I think I will get stuck into my Hedgehogs.

My progress so far

Crossword hedgehogs

So fingers crossed that I can get this piece finished then I can get an exchange or two stitched up during the next week or so and do some study too.

Then ....

I can stitch my Joan Elliott Air Goddess Fairy!  I'm still waiting for Summer fairy fabric then I can get a move on with something for my little Cara :-)

I hope the snow does not trap too many of you in the house making you do nothing but stitch and craft all day long .... ooooo how terrible that would be!!  (not) lol

Enjoy your weekend all

Good Afternoon everyone!!

I hope you are all happy and healthy and enjoying my blog.  I am certainly enjoying writing it :-)

Once I finished Charlie A-G I put him away and started a much smaller Margaret Sherry design all for me!  It is now the 16th January and I have not had one single finish yet lol!!

The design I am stitching is 2 hedgehogs doing a crossword!!  So cute!

My progress up to yesterday afternoon ...

I have received my new book for book club and I hope to start reading it soon.

I am just finishing off the mini challenge for babies, books and beyond blog (see my A-Z book challenge page)

Nothing much else to report today other than I am going to get a few hours stitching in before kiddies come home from school.

Have a great day all

Charlie has been put away for the moment as I have a few essays to get written for my Open University course I am doing so whilst studying and writing essays I will do a few smaller pieces in between.

This evening I started a smaller design by Margaret Sherry.  Will post a photo when I have done some more on it.  It is 2 hedgehogs doing a crossword!  Its the same picture that is the header on the Margaret Sherry Lovers blog

Katie spotted it and said that I have to stitch it for myself because I love Crosswords and I love Cross Stitch lol!!  This child knows me too well ha ha :-)

Speaking of Katie, she came home with her first lot of homework today and she was delighted!!  I wonder how long that will last :-P

Katie showing off her homework bag

Katie doing her very first piece of homework

Yes she has her Santa Dress on lol!!

No other news from my little corner of the globe!

Keep safe and well all.  Will post a photo tomorrow of my little crossword cross stitch piece for me :-)

Charlie Update

Hello all!

I have been busy with back to school this week and in between house things and kiddies I have managed to get some time to do a little stitching on Charlie and I totally enjoyed stitching him.

Charlie Bear as at 09.01.13

As you might have seen from my Pages I have joined the Margaret Sherry Lovers Blog.  I have signed up for a SAL and 4 exchanges.  It has been a long time since I have done any exchanges and I am totally looking forward to them.  I already have planned what I am stitching so just need to get all the fabrics and threads together so I can get going with them.

It has been a long while since I have stitched lots of Margaret Sherry designs.  I always use to stitch Margaret Sherry.  I must get some of my pictures on my blog of my earlier years of stitching her designs.

Thank you everyone for your views and comments over the last few weeks.  I am really delighted :-)

Introducing the New Love of my life .....

Hi all!!

Well here he is .... (bet you thought I was going to say a man ... well now that would be telling ... lol)

Charlie Bear Alphabet

Designed by Margaret Sherry

I started this piece ooooo quite a while ago now.  I am doing him as a SAL with the one and only lovely bessie called Steph.  Click on her name to go to her blog and see her progress.

I was doing my HAED Fireside Fairytales but had to put it away.  I think this well be my 'Kids away for every other weekend' project ... in other words when my adorable mob stay with their father 2 night per month!!  Then I can stitch my heart out :-)

Steph mentioned stitching on her Charlie so I copied!! I am really looking forward to stitching all of him.  Ryan told me off for not giving Charlie a face so I spent the best part of 2 days, on and off, working on the backstitch.  I still have to backstitch the letters but at least I've made a start.  Think I will also copy Steph again and do the backstitch as I go along, once I have caught up on the rest of it!!

No other news from here other than back to school Monday for my lot!!  Ha Ha!!

Take care and be good!!

Love me

Yesterdays Adventures

Hello!

Today I have done a few lines on my HAED Fireside Fairtytales but I couldn't get peace to concentrate so I got my Charlie Bear SAL out that I am doing with Steph.  See her blog as she is making brilliant progress.

I'll have to post a picture in the morning as my camera is taking the photo orange lol  Bad light is the culprit!!

I love Margaret Sherry Designs but I haven't stitched any of hers since I did the Karate Dog for Conor, which then reminded me I need to do him another Karate Dog but with a yellow belt on!!  Better get a move on, plus add that 'job' to my WIP/To-Do list before I forget again!!

Anyway back to the Margaret Sherry lovers blog I decided that since there is a year to complete the piece I might as well join up and get myself back into the Margaret Sherry frenzy I used to be in many moons ago lol!!

So looking forward to this .... in all my excitement of my new found 'joining-in' so far in 2013 I must remmber that I have 2 Open University essays to do by the end of march lol!!

Bye for now

Such a long time

Hello bloggers!

I haven't been here for soooooo long!!  Sorry about that but my internet was cut off by my soon to be Ex but now all back up and running (with a much better package deal lol!!)

So here are a few pictures of our antics over the last few weeks!!

I haven't stitched much as there was far too much going on.  Katie (now 5) started school 2 weeks ago and had shorter hours than the normal day but from tomorrow she is in full time so much more time for stitching for me!!

Katie's 1st day at school.
She looks lovely in her new uniform :-)
The children all waiting for the school bus!  Katie decided that she wanted to go on the bus from just the second day of starting year one!  Little miss independent lol

Ryan, Mark, Conor and Katie waiting for the bus
Ryan has had a riddle published in a book

James received a medal from his school.  James is totally delighted!!

and last but no way least yesterday Conor gained his Yellow Belt in Karate :-)

Well Done Conor
xxxxxx
Now, as per the instruction of Conor, I have another Margaret Sherry 'Karate Dog' to do wearing a Yellow Belt:-)

I am in the middle of cooking a roast dinner at the moment.  More from me later on with the updates of my little bits of stitching I have done.

Happy blogging and Happy Sunday all

I'm back .... I hope!

Good evening bloggers,

Hope you are all well!  Things are great here and we have had a few adventures the last 2 weekends... lots of fun had by all of us.

First though I have found my stitching bug again and whipped up a lovely Knit Chick for my wonderful friend Karen.  She keeps hens at her house (large garden lol) and she is a nutty about knitting as I am about stitching!!  I thought I had taken a photo with my daughters camera but its not on the memory card so either I did it wrong or I didn't take a photo with the camera.  So I have posted a pic I took with my phone!

For Karen's Birthday

Today we had a birthday party for Cara who will be 2 years old on Monday.  Karen and her kiddies came over, Grainne and her kiddies came too then with my kiddies and Laura's boyfriend there was a lovely house full with lots of fun and food too!!

Cara, me (with the cake) and Karen in the background!
Just look at Cara's little face :-)
We had a fantastic time... lots more pics but not yet gone through them all!

Last weekend .... oh wow what a great time we had!  On Saturday we all went to a Jubilee Party at the local Community Centre.  Kids had Ice-cream, bounces on the bouncy castle, hotdogs and lots of other stuff so we decided to have a run around the obstacle course to burn off some of that energy but we ended up at Cranny Fields, were the obstacle course was, for hours!!  We met up with with Karen's eldest (same age as James) so they started kicking a football about then my lot joined in!!  Cara kept running a 1/4 length of the pitch to go and kiss and hug James' leg lol then she ran back to me.  Karen's middle son then came so that was it a full kick about was on.  before I knew it most of the afternoon had gone and it was time for home!  Brilliant, brilliant, did I say brilliant time had by all!!

On Sunday we all piled on down to Karen's house! lol  Totally fun there and her sunroom is amazing so guess where I am spending my summer hols stitching ..... yes glued to a seat in her sunroom lol

Well I guess its time to get the kiddies sorted to be and crack on with some stitching.  At the moment i am whipping up something quick for the school teachers.  Better get a move on as there is just on 4 weeks left til the schools over here finish for summer!!

The bets are on to me finishing M'Ladys Strawberries before Wimbledon starts again... wonder if I will get it finished .....

My goal by the end of June is to have 5 stitched 'things' for teachers done, M'Ladys Strawberries and Gone Fishing finished.  Fingers crossed!!
