Catafiddle for Ryan

After a long wait for Ryan his Catafiddle is now done!

Needless to say Ryan is totally delighted and cannot wait for me to frame his cat and put it up on his wall.

Thank you Ryan for being so good and patient for waiting for mummy to stitch catafiddle :-)

Stitching this last week

Yesterday evening I spent more time doing the Catafiddle kit by Margaret Sherry for my son Ryan.  At the time I started stitching it was the first piece I had done on evenweave and I was struggling with it.  So last night I sat down and refused to move until I had got over the bit I was stuck on, which I did, so lets hope now it will a pleasure to stitch and not a 'thorn in my side'!

I will stitch some more today then post a photo of it!  I hope to have Catafiddle and Katie's Horses finished by Monday 2nd May.  I was hoping to have more of my WIP's finished by then but think I will have to be realistic or a very fast stitcher!!

This is the stitching I have done over the past few days.

The Lady Sampler by Little House Needleworks

I have made slow progress but I will have to get my skates on as I have ordered the Alphabet Rhyme chart by Little House Needleworks as my daughter, Katie who is 3, singes the Alphabet Rhyme quite a lot so I thought she would love this chart stitched.  When I saw the chart I knew I just had to get it!

My Weekend Stitching

I decided to start The Sampler Lady.  My wonderful friend Jan bought this chart for me, such a wonderful lady!  I started last night and I am pleased with my progress.

Today I plan to stitch for as long as possible (in other words - for as long as the kiddies let me) and make good head way into this design then later on or tomorrow maybe carry on with a WIP before they become a UFO!

My mum e-mailed me asking if I had any ideas for what I would like for my birthday (the big 4-0 in July!!).  I love gifts that I can keep, use over again or 'see forever'.  My brain is yelling "Stash stash stash" so I might do a lovely long wish list for Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage Needleworks charts and Crescent threads and let mum decide what she gets.  That way I still get a surprise too!

Well back to The Sampler Lady ...

He's A Flake

I totally enjoyed every stitch on He's A Flake.  He is yummy!

Thank you to Lucie and Ruth for introducing me to Little House Needleworks (LHN).  I now have a dilemma - do I start The Sampler Lady by LHN or continue on with a WIP?  :-)

Frosty Flakes

Another Little House Needleworks ornament completed.  I think it is just lovely!

I completed him last night and my daughter said I had to do number 3 from the list of 12 ornaments for 2010. Number 3 is 'He's a Flake', which means another snowman!

He's a Flake is under way at the moment.

More lovely stash

I think I now have enough stash to keep me out of mischief for an hour or two!

I am really looking forward to stitching these 3 charts.  Two of them are Little House needleworks, 'The Sampler Lady' and 'Deck the Halls'.  The third chart is by County Cottages Needleworks 'Summer Retreat'

I just love the Crescent threads and I now have 4 more colours to add to my slow growing collection!

Stitched Gifts

For my mum for Mother's day.  She loves flowers so I thought a nice stitched vase of flowers would be lovely and with luck, last forever!

Mother's day

For Ruth's Birthday for the present, ATC and thread exchanges we are in.   As I was stitching my gift for mum I realised love would love the vase of flowers too so I just had to make another one!  Well it was also good practise on evenweave :-)

Happy Birthday Ruth :-) xxxxx

TUSAL at 3 April 2011

This is my growing thread TUSAL jar.  I cannot believe how quickly it is filling up.

I do have some quite longish pieces in it but when I have wanted a thread for just a few stitches I have pinched from my TUSAL rather than going on a thread hunt!!
